OM Zimbabwe stopped from providing aid to needy

All NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) in Zimbabwe have been ordered to cease operations. OM Zimbabwe has had to close the day-care centre in Banket as well as the mobile clinic in Siabuwa.

Those who were distributing food aid are no longer permitted to continue. Millions of people in rural areas are dependent on food aid after the harvest failed, despite the excellent rainfall. OM has not been forbidden to preach the Gospel or pray, but may not help any needy person or meet in groups larger than fifteen.

The OM team has started a 21-day Daniel fast to worship and praise God daily in readings and worship, to repent of our own sin, the sin of the church in Zimbabwe and the sin of the nation.

OM Zimbabwe says, “We are turning to God, so he will turn to us. It is He who will judge and heal our land, not we ourselves by our own efforts.”

•      the presidential election rerun on 27 June.
•      the forces of darkness trying to destroy this nation to be exposed and restrained.
•      violence to cease.
•      a restoration of the economy.
•      safety and the supply of provisions for the team.
•      creative ways to return to ministry.

ORA POR ZIMBABWE

El gobierno ha ordenado el cese de actividades de todas las ONGs (Organizaciones No Gubernamentales) en Zimbabwe. OM Zimbabwe ha tenido que cerrar su centro de día en Banket y también la clínica móvil en Siabuwa.

Ya no está permitido distribuir alimentos. Millones de personas en las áreas rurales dependen totalmente de la ayuda de alimentos que reciben puesto que se han perdido las cosechas, a pesar de que la temporada de lluvia fue muy buena. No se le ha prohibido a OM compartir el evangelio ni orar, pero no se puede ayudar a los necesitados ni reunirse en grupos mayores a quince personas.

El equipo de OM ha comenzado 21 días de ayuno (tal como lo hizo el profeta Daniel), para adorar y alabar a Dios diariamente, acompañado de la lectura de la Palabra. Es un tiempo especial para “arrepentirnos de nuestros pecados, los pecados de la iglesia en Zimbabwe y el pecado de la nación”.

 “Nos volvemos a Dios, para que Él se vuelva a nosotros. Es Él quien juzgará y sanará nuestra tierra, no lo haremos nosotros con nuestras propias fuerzas.” Comentó alguien de OM Zimbabwe.
