Wake up Italy 2008
From the 29th of October to the 5th of November, we hosted an outreach organised by Save Ishmael in the city of Parma. One of our prayer requests that we shared with the church, fields and participants before the outreach was for nice weather. Italy is known as the land of the sun, so we figured it shouldn't be so difficult to expect sunshine. We were hoping to do street evangilsm for as long as we could; however, the weather did not stay clear as we had expected. There was a lot of rain and some and difficulty with the vehicles. In addition, the church was dealing with a few of their own challenges.
In the midst of this though, at the end of the week the participants were excited about their experience at the outreach, and the church was satisfied with the work that had been accomplished. As always, God knows what we need!
David, one of the participants on his third outreach with us, commented:
“At the beginning of the week I was out with my teammate. We got closer to two Tunisian men to offer them some literature. After a very short conversation they invited us for lunch in their home. Even if these two guys were speaking only a little English, we could still give them the Gospel of Luke in Arabic. One of them started to read it immediately! At the end of the lunch we exchanged our phone numbers. This meeting was a great encouragement for me! It has been a really good outreach. Thanks to all of you for the efforts you have done in organising it.”
