Sowing the seeds

OM International
English/Español/Français

“What does it mean to believe in Christ?” asked Tabitha, an OM Ecuador team member. Valeria responded: “To believe in your heart, to be sincere. It isn’t just words, but to mean it.” Tabitha was delighted by Valeria’s response. The mother of four and grandmother of one became a child of God on 13 October.

OM Ecuador began its work on Santay Island in 2003. Since then, the team has experienced disappointment and delight. Most recently, the team felt discouraged over the direction of the ministry on the island. Devotional classes yielded few responses. Tabitha felt the weight of stagnation. She said a simple prayer, asking God to work in a mighty way that day.

The islanders seemed to waiver in their understanding of salvation in Christ, and they seemed lost in confusion. Valeria was no different. She has been attending the Bible studies on the island since April. She was a timid individual and passive listener, rarely speaking. However, one sunny afternoon Valeria spoke boldly with the sincerity of understanding in her eyes. God answered a simple prayer.

Praise God for Valeria’s new faith. Pray that she, and others on Santay Island, will grow to know God more. Pray for endurance and perseverance for the team in Ecuador.

SEMBRANDO LA SEMILLA – Ecuador

SEMER DES GRAINES - Equateur
