Faith under trial

OM International
Brenda Babcock, an OMer working in Austria, has spent the last two years going through cancer treatment, and ensuing operations to correct internal damage from the radiation therapy. Her last operation in September seemed to go well, but soon thereafter, the Babcock story took a new turn!

As her husband, Dave, was out cycling, he fell off his bike and broke his hip. He was taken to the same hospital as Brenda and both were bedridden and being treated on the same hospital floor. The couple had hoped that Brenda would recover so they could fly home at the end of the month, but with Dave needing several months of therapy, their visit was cancelled. Brenda has reflected on 1 Peter 1:7 as she has faced these complications. The verse says: “These have come so that your faith...may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.” Now, the verse has become one for the whole family.

Please pray for the Babcocks, that they would experience God's sovereignty in their trials, and come out of this hard time victoriously.
