The river that flows deeper - Bangladesh

OM International
One of the islands in the mighty rivers of Bangladesh is only accessible by a 12-hour launch ride. Last year, team members took a week out from their usual work, and loaded down with good books, took the overnight launch ride. They returned home, worn-out but also almost sold-out, having spent their days in the village markets distributing literature and talking with people.

Today, alongside many market vendors selling everything from rice and vegetables, to clay pots and plastic toilet brushes, some men are sitting, reading books they have never held before. As hundreds, possibly thousands, mill around the make-shift stalls buying their bulk shopping for the week, something has changed.

Last month, our team went further south to bring God's Word to the thirsty people: for many, the first opportunity in their lives to hear of His love and forgiveness. They sold over 2,000 books to the villagers and had many conversations about the God who cares for them. Pray that God would penetrate hearts and change lives.
