Ladies in black

OM International
English/Français

One Saturday, a group of women went to a mall. While there, they met four sisters dressed in black and started conversation. One of the sisters, 17, sat down next to Sarah*. They talked about many things, and suddenly the sister asked, “Are you a Muslim?” Sarah answered that she was a Christian. The sister said they had a Filipino driver who is also a Christian. “She has a book she reads every night. What book is that?” she asked. Sarah answered that it is probably the Bible. “We read and study this book because we believe it is the Word of God.”

The sister looked at Sarah for a long moment and then told her she should become a Muslim. Sarah smiled, and before she could stop herself, she said “Christianity is better.” Sarah couldn’t believe her own ears—during her many years in the Middle East she had never dared to say her thoughts so directly! Realising she might have offended the lady, Sarah quickly said, “Islam and your holy book work for you, but Christ and the Bible is the only thing for me.” The sister quickly looked around to see if anyone was listening and then asked Sarah for her mobile number.

Please pray that during this conversation God planted a seed in this woman’s heart to learn more about Christ. Pray that she, and other women like her, can find freedom to seek Christ.
