The power of prayer amongst youth and immigrants
Together with other Christians in Valencia, Christian (OM) is discovering the privilege and power of prayer. His local church was transformed for the weekend into one large 'prayer garden', with different rooms focussing on different themes e.g. music, prayer and a 'tent of meeting' where participants could meet with God alone.
"I was encouraged to see so many young Christians take part in this meeting," said Christian, "and to see their hunger to know God in a deeper way."
Christian believes that despite the lack of "organised programme" for over 70 immigrants they meet with weekly, the fact that several immigrants now attend church meetings regularly is a direct result of prayer.
"When we visit the men each week," said Christian, "we give them practical help like food and clothing, and offer them prayer whenever needed. Not only do some now attend church regularly, but they soak up the teaching with open eyes and mouths."
