Perfect place for a church

The team clawed their way slowly up a steep, rocky trail when they saw a man racing towards them from the village on the hill far above. He reached them quickly, and as he caught his breath, they explained that they had come to distribute Christian books. The man’s reaction was immediate and enthusiastic, “Come to my village and tell me more about what Christians believe!”

The man was a teacher at the village school, and he called for several other interested teachers to come and hear about Christianity. “You explain it to me,” he said to the team, “and I will explain it to the rest of them.” As they talked, the teachers were fascinated by the gospel. “Stay with us three or four days and teach us more!” they urged. The team decided to extend their stay. After showing a Christian film, they shared the story of the Bible from Genesis to Jesus’ resurrection.

When it was time to leave, the team gave Bibles to the teachers, and promised to return in a few weeks to answer questions and share more. It was only as they left the town that the man explained the importance of this village in the area. Many people pass through on their way to other villages; it would be a perfect place to build a church!

Praise God for the men’s eagerness to hear about Christ. Pray that they will grow in faith and more will gather next time to hear the gospel. Pray that a strong foundation forms so a new church can grow in this village.
 

UN LUGAR PERFECTO PARA UNA IGLESIA – Nepal
El equipo se hacía camino en la rocosa ladera cuando de pronto vieron a un hombre que se acercaba desde la aldea en la cima del cerro. Él los alcanzó rápidamente y, mientras recuperaba el aliento, el equipo le explicó que estaban allí para distribuir libros cristianos. La reacción del hombre fue inmediata y de entusiasmo: “Vengan a mi aldea y cuéntenme más acerca de lo que creen los cristianos.”

Aquel hombre era maestro de escuela en la aldea, y llamó a otros maestros para que escuchen acerca del cristianismo. “Explíquenme a mí”, les dijo, “y yo se los explicaré a ellos.” Mientras ellos hablaban, los maestros se maravillaban del evangelio. “¡Quédense con nosotros tres o cuatro días para enseñarnos más!” les rogaron. El equipo decidió quedarse por más tiempo. Luego de mostrarles una película cristiana, les contaron la historia de la Biblia desde el Génesis hasta la resurrección de Jesús.

Cuando fue tiempo de irse, el equipo entregó Biblias a los maestros, y les prometieron regresar en algunas semanas para responder preguntas y enseñarles más. Recién cuando se fueron del pueblo el hombre les explicó la importancia de la aldea en el área. Muchas personas pasan por allí de camino a otras aldeas, ¡sería un lugar perfecto para construir una iglesia!

Alaba a Dios por el deseo de estos hombres de escuchar acerca de Cristo. Ora para que ellos crezcan en la fe y la próxima vez sean más los que se reúnan a oír el evangelio. Ora por fundamentos firmes para que una nueva iglesia pueda crecer en la aldea.
