Missionary Skipper - Lake Tanganyika (Zambia)
Here is an opportunity of a lifetime for a practical, adventure-loving person, who loves Jesus and also loves those who have yet to come to know Him as their saviour.
We need a person who will act as skipper/deck man and be responsible for the maintenance on an 8-man boat.
The boat will serve as a medical clinic and will visit villages on the shores of Lake Tanganyika once a month on the Zambian side from Tanzania to D.R. Congo border (± 230 km roundtrip visiting ± 11 villages)
As soon as possible
2 years (full time)
Person must:
- be able to communicate in English
- preferably have previous cross cultural mission experience
- have knowledge of running of boats
- be a good steward
- be willing to be out on the lake for at least two weeks at a time, sleeping on the boat, in a tent or in a village hut
- train another person to take over before leaving
Note: any medical experience will be to his/her advantage.
