Software Developer - ICT Carlisle (United Kingdom)
Developers are urgently needed to work on OpenPetra, an Open Source Software Project initiated by OM (www.openpetra.org). This will replace OM's current in-house software package, Petra, which is used in over 80 locations worldwide and is vital for the stability and upkeep of OM's administration records and financial systems.
As soon as possible
1-2 years (full time)
We have successfully rolled out OpenPetra to the OM Office in Switzerland and it is now being used for their day-to-day administration. Now we are looking for more developers to help develop additional functionality, adapt the software to various local and legal requirements and improve the software as needed.
You would be involved in the design and development process. Main technologies being used are C#, .NET framework, Mono, PostgreSQL RDBMS.
- Experience with C# and .NET would be ideal. If not then similar languages like Java or C++ are helpful.
- Database application development experience would be helpful though not essential.
- We need someone to serve for a minimum of one year, although longer would be a huge help.
If you like to work in a team and have experience of object-oriented development then we would like to talk to you. We would prefer you to work in our Carlisle office but please speak to us about other possibilities.
All jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
