Guatemala :: “I used to ask God for riches and prosperity—an easy life. Now, I ask God to use me to build His kingdom, no matter what the cost—a meaningful life.” - Nathan from Switzerland, OM Guatemala
Italy :: “I have a true passion for Europe. It is just a place that I like, I understand, and I enjoy getting to know more. There is so much history, culture—so many beautiful places. And also so many factors fighting against Christianity, from liberal views to different religions. A place that needs Christ more than ever, to shape our lives, our families, our churches, our communities, and our countries. And God clearly called me to stay in Italy and, more specifically, to the Italian churches, in order to face the problems and not run away from them.” - Michel from Italy
International :: “My favourite part of serving and living onboard Logos Hope is that I get to do what I love—woodwork—and people come to me every day asking for help to fix things. It’s a privilege for me. I think OM Ships differs from other ministries in this way. It is a unique ministry. The countries we go to get to visit our home and meet people from all over the world who have one thing in common: Jesus. It is a powerful testimony.” - Mic from Switzerland
Kosovo :: “One of the good things about MKs is that they adapt well into another culture. And so I found that I was tempted to rely on that for success when I moved to Kosovo, when really, that’s not what makes a successful missionary—it’s relying on God. I had this moment when I was in my homestay, and I had an identity crisis. I had tried to adapt so much and I was disconnected from everything else. I felt like I had to return always to who God is and who He thinks I am. That was my grounding point at the end of the day.” - Meredith, MK in Europe
Zambia :: “For a long time Africa has been on the receiving end of the gospel. But now it is our turn to contribute to world missions, and there is so much potential in Africa to offer the world. We have a rich history. We have a lot of young people who want to go serve. So even if I dont go out there, I can help mobilise and train those who will.” - Melvin, OM Zambia
United Kingdom :: “I honestly didn’t decide to serve in the UK. I was called to serve and feed God’s people, and I went where I saw a need. I do feel like this is a good place and fit for me, but I wouldn’t want to put God in a box in saying this is the best or only place.” - Matt from USA
Sweden :: “I was born at a farm in the remote countryside of Sweden, with very small circles [of friends] when I grew up. I have learnt so much about myself, God, and people in the world through my life with others in various [OM] teams. I love reading, but when I look back, I can more and more see how God is shaping me and revealing Himself for me through real and often challenging life experiences. So many times, I have been outside my comfort zone and, not having any other way than trusting God for His mercy and guidance through it all. In this way, I have experienced God shaping me.” - Martin, OM Sweden
South Africa :: “My interest in missions started when I was 15 years old and my dad passed away. I had a wish to go out in the world and help people in some way, but I wasn’t completely missions-minded until God led me to MDT, where I learned more of His purposes. I only started to do missions now when I came to MDT, so it has not been for long, but I will definitely continue doing missions, because it’s important to reach out to the people who do not know God and give them the light of love of God.” - Maggy from Sweden, MDT student
Italy :: Gods biggest triumph [in my life] has been showing me my value is in Him and not in what I do, and overcoming that awful flaw thats in many artists that its about me—I want to be rich and famous. Before I came to Christ, I built my entire life about me, and I craved it. God has shown me its about Him, and the more I die to me, the more satisfying, peaceful, and full it will be when its all about Him. But at the same time, He lets me do what I love for His glory.” - Linda from UK
Italy :: “My husband and I joined OM in 2012 and thought we were going to change Italy, and after that, the rest of the world. Three years later, I am looking back and see that God had to change me first. When you come to God as His servant, He first wants you to allow Him to mold you and change you into the instrument of His choosing.” - Lanette, OM Arts
United Kingdom :: “I want children to get the best possible picture of God, who He is, and [know] that He loves them.” - Kees-Jan from the Netherlands
Mozambique :: “Missions is no holiday. God takes you out of your comfort zone, physically and emotionally, and plants you in an unfamiliar place, forced to rely on Him.” - Kayla, Africa Trek participant
