Business Development Consultant (Central Asia)
In Central Asia, entrepreneurs are brimming with ideas and enthusiasm but lack the "know how" to make small businesses work.
During decades of Soviet rule private businesses were forbidden. Today, without a vital domestic economy, many Central Asian men are forced to seek work in Russia for months or years at a time. While labor migration enables many rural families to survive, the long-term economic benefits are limited as labor migration drains skills, resources and creativity away from the local economy.
OM partners with both local and international NGOs in a variety of small business development programs. We hope to provide a viable alternative to labor migration for many families.
We urgently need experienced personnel from a business background who can be involved in training, resourcing and mentoring Central Asian entrepreneurs - men and women - through the process of establishing and expanding their own businesses.
