Our goals for you are the following:

  • Knowing God's purpose for your my life. We will include the Life Direction Seminar as a life orientation study in our Adventure Teams.
  • A cross-cultural exposure. You will get a taste of culture, nature and life in a foreign country, as well as church life.
  • Friendship Evangelism. You will participate in friendship evangelism amongst socially rejected kids in an orphanage, give food to homeless and work with local churches.

Objectives
Experience in cross-cultural Missions
Discovering God´s future for you
Enjoying Nature´s beauties and challenges
Proving your team skills
Working with Chilean churches

In the Adventure Team we do youth work, visit churches, evangelise on the streets, work with children and will be involved in whatever the church is doing at that moment.

Programme:
Evangelism and sight-seeing in Santiago, Valparaiso and Viña del Mar
Outreaches with local churches
Adventure in Pucón and Viña (body-boarding, rafting, mountain-biking, climbing a volcano)
Life Direction Seminar

single people welcome married couples welcome sorry, no families groups welcome
Mon 25 Oct 2010 – Sat 13 Nov 2010
Sun 15 Aug 2010
1,385 AUD (participants from Australia)
18-35

In the Adventure Team we could do youth work, visit churches, evangelize on the streets, children work and be involved in whatever the church is doing at that moment.
In the Life Direction Seminar during the evenings, we will look at the gifts and talents God gave you and search for His will for your life.
In the last part we will go for the (physical) adventure! We will see more of Chile’s beauty in the famous part Pucon, where we will go mountain-biking, rafting and climbing a volcano!

  • Be prepared for physically challenging activities
  • A Christian believer at least for one year
  • FAT participants: Flexible, Adaptable and Teachable!!
  • You must be able to speak English as all team communication is in English (some spanish would be great, but is isn´t required. Chileans love to make friends in spite of the language barrier.)

We will be staying in the OM accommodation house, plus either low budget hotels or Chilean homes. The hotels will be basic and cheap, so don't expect much. There will be showers and toilet facilities.

You will be eating local food in either homes or restaurants. In general, all salads and cooked food can be eaten without problems. When you are invited to eat in someone's home, the rule is "if they serve it, we eat it", so that we don't offend.

We mainly travel in local busses and metro in Santiago. In rural areas we walk through fields and on dirt roads.

You must fly into Santiago airport (Arturo Benitez). You will receive your tourist visa on the plane, which will be stamped by customs. (Don´t throw it away!)
You will receive instructions as to where to go in the airport, where a team member of OM Chile will be waiting for you to bring you to the OM accommodation house.

You must be in good physical health to be able to participate in all the planned activities and adventures. Travel insurance (which includes health insurance for the given time) is compulsory for all participants. If you are taking medication, bring enough and extra as well. You must know your blood group type.

We recommend that you contact your local Consulate for VISA information, as the requirements vary from country to country.
Americans, Canadians, Mexicans and Australians need to pay an entrance fee to Chilean customs upon arrival at the airport. It is a reciprocity arrangement between the countries.
