Moldova :: Nine-year-old Mihai had known about Jesus’ crucifixion but not the resurrection. When the Bus4Life visited his village in the spring of 2016, an OM worker explained about the resurrection and the reason for Jesus’ death, using an illustrated children’s Bible, which Mihai then received as a gift. The boy was excited to know about Jesus and to have his own Bible where he could read about Him and expressed an eagerness to also read this Bible to his family.
Moldova :: Adolescent boys are praying in small groups during OM Moldova’s first boys’ conference in April 2016. These boys, who come from backgrounds of poverty and neglect and have no good role-models, heard about God as their Father and discussed what it means to be a real man. The conference was part of OM Moldova’s ministry among vulnerable children, equipping and educating those at risk of becoming caught up in human trafficking and exploitation.
Moldova :: A ‘Challenge into Missions’ (CiM) outreach team is leading a youth meeting in the new Bus4Life during an outreach in a Moldovan village in spring 2016. The CiM mission training is made up of study weeks and practical outreaches, helping young Moldovan believers get a deeper understanding of God and of the gospel and learn how to share it with others.
Moldova :: Members of a ‘Challenge into Missions’ (CiM) outreach team get in touch and share tracts with local young men during an outreach in a Moldovan village in spring 2016. The CiM mission training uses study weeks and practical outreaches to help young Moldovan believers get a deeper understanding of God and of the gospel and learn how to share it with others.
Moldova :: Believers in Lozova meet for their first prayer evening in November 2015. OM Moldova’s local ministry team helps to plant a church in this village and is encouraged to see believers starting to share about their needs and trusting God to answer their prayers. The small house the church uses is insufficient, but building permission on a piece of land they bought is being refused by the mayor who fears the public opinion. The community is still prejudiced against any faith outside Eastern Orthodoxy, but slowly trust and acceptance are being built through the practical lived-out faith visible in the believers’ lives.
Moldova :: Gheorghe is one of the many lonely, abandoned and often sick elderly who receive warm meals, care and fellowship through OM Moldova’s elderly care centres all over the country. Where possible, these old people gather together, local church members bring food to their homes. The care received, makes many of them open to the gospel.
Moldova :: Maria received firewood through OM Moldova’s winter projects at the beginning of 2016, enabling her to heat her house properly again. She had run out of wood and for a period of time had been collecting some walnut shells which she used to make a small fire.
Moldova :: Several years ago Ion came to faith through OM Moldova’s sports ministry. Today he is himself part of the OM team, passionate about equipping and motivating other young believers and about sharing his faith wherever God sends him. Having a vision to go into world missions, he is currently (January to April 2016) taking part in a training programme on OM’s ship ‘Logos Hope’.
Moldova :: Dana, who attends one of OM Moldova’s Day Centres for vulnerable children and her mother Tania, who came to faith and freedom at the church that runs this Day Centre together with OM Moldova. Just a few months earlier, Tania had been a physical wreck, destroyed by alcohol, and Dana a sick and undernourished girl, but God completely changed this family.
Moldova :: Moldovan children visiting the Bus4Life are keenly interested in the Children’s Bibles and other literature displayed in the bus.
Moldova :: Despite the cold temperatures, children from the Moldovan villages of Huzum and Micleușeni are waiting to use the bouncy castle that the Bus4Life brought during its visit in November 2015.
Moldova :: The Bus4Life and a bouncy castle set up on a hill at the edge of Huzum, a small out-of-the-way village with a mainly gypsy population in central Moldova. The Bus4Life caused great excitement among the children of the village when it visited Huzum on a beautiful autumn day in November 2015.
