Short-term Missions Trip
Impact Ireland 2016 - Church Partnership Team (Ireland)
Impact Ireland is all about sharing the Gospel with people who do not know Jesus, confident that the Gospel will make an impact in their lives.
We want to:
- Introduce Irish people to Jesus by sharing the Gospel message widely and creatively
- Inspire Irish believers to live for Christ
- Encourage and support Irish churches in evangelism
- Help participants grow in their love for God and their confidence in sharing the Gospel
Impact Ireland is an exciting outreach involving Christians from around the world working together with local churches to share and demonstrate the love of Jesus. Experience thought-provoking, creative, interactive training, then join an International team to share the message of the Gospel in word and action, together with local Christians across Ireland.
Price exclusive travel, insurance, visa and vaccination cost. Inclusive non-refundable application fee.
The programme starts with three days of training and orientation at Lacken House, OM Ireland's headquarters. This includes Bible teaching, worship, understanding and articulating the gospel, prayer, introduction to culture, answering skeptics and workshops to give you practical skills for the week to follow. Participants will then head out in teams across Ireland working with local churches to share the Gospel and demonstrate God's love in action.
In previous years, we have run the following ministries, and we expect to be doing similar ministries this year: children's clubs, open-air street evangelism, cleaning litter on estates, street theatre, leaflet distribution, musical opportunities, visiting the elderly, gardening, sporting activities with youth.
We are looking for people who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel. Team members will need to be flexible and willing to step out of their comfort zone to try new things. Accommodation is likely to consist of sleeping on church floors on air beds with sleeping bags.
A good level of English is required as all training and outreach activities will be in English.
We accept married couples and will do our best to accommodate them together but they may have separate sleeping accommodation.
For the orientation and training you will be at Lacken House. We provide beds/mattresses for all during this time but all participants should bring a winter weight sleeping bag and pillow.
During the ministry outreach, local churches will arrange accommodation: some in homes and others in church halls, so it is advisable to bring an air mattress.
If you have any particular need/requirement for alternative provision due to health reasons, contact your local OM office.
OM and the local churches you work with will ensure that you are fed during the programme.
During the orientation all will be fed at Lacken House.
During the ministry outreach week local churches will organise food. In some cases churches will provide and prepare food, in other cases they provide the food and you will prepare.
If you are a vegetarian, gluten sensitive, lactose intolerant or have any other food allergies or dietary needs, make sure you inform your local OM office.
