Short-term Missions Trip

Extreme Leadership Training camp - August option (Ukraine)

Using adventure sports and team-building games with leaders and potential leaders to encourage personal growth, communication skills, teamwork, and leadership skills.

After a short time of orientation you will participate in a 3-day extreme leadership training camp with young adults from local churches.

single people welcome married couples welcome sorry, no families groups welcome
Wed 25 Aug 2010 – Mon 30 Aug 2010
Tue 25 May 2010
354 USD (participants from United States)
18-any

During the extreme leadership camp you will be challenged to grow in your walk with God, to grow as a leader/potential leader, to expand your comfort zone, to know your weaknesses and strengths, and to work well as a team with people who may be different from yourself. You can participate alongside the local Christian Ukrainian youth, at the same time building friendships with them and encourage them. You can participate in a few games as time allows.

Participants welcome: participate in the camp along with the local young adults. If you have already experience in other kinds of sports ministry and would like to expand your horizon, you will find this an interesting opportunity. Living conditions will be primitive – camp life! Come with an open heart to love and share your life with a different culture.

During both the training and the camp you will stay in simple accommodation.

Good Ukrainian food, prepared at the camp site or arranged by the trainers.

You have to either fly into and out of Kiev Borispil Airport or travel by train to Rivne Train Station. Everything else is organized by the team. How to find us: We will pick you up at either Kiev Borispil Airport or Rivne Train Station. It is about a 5 hour trip from Kiev Borispil Airport to Rivne.

Good health, able to participate in adventure sports and team-building games!

People from the EU, Switzerland, USA, Canada and Japan do not need a visa for visiting Ukraine up to 90 days.
The application deadline for people not needing a visa can be extended until March 6th.
People from other nationalities have to apply for a visa. The visa must be obtained BEFORE leaving your home country. You will need a single entry (1 month) visa for Ukraine. Ask at the consulate in your home country what is needed to obtain the visa. If you need an invitation letter, we can get this to you but please allow three weeks for this to be obtained and sent to you. We need full passport info, home address, church and church address info to get the invitation letter for you.
You will then need to hand the invitation letter, the application and any other required papers to the consulate to receive the visa. Visa costs are not included in the campaign and must be paid separately.

There will be people able to translate, but you should not expect your own translator all the time. Be prepared for the fact, that you will not be able to communicate all the time with the locals. If your cannot talk, just smile! :)
