Short-term Missions Trip

Big Red Bus Christmas Tour - Performing Arts Team (Ireland)

Christmas is all about Jesus – and we want all of Ireland to know that! We want to use the Christmas season to meet people and talk about the real meaning of Christmas.

Reaching out to kids, parents and teachers, you will work with an international team for four weeks rehearsing and performing a specially written play all about the real meaning of Christmas.

single people welcome married couples welcome sorry, no families groups welcome
Sat 20 Nov 2010 – Mon 20 Dec 2010
Mon 23 Aug 2010
985 USD (participants from United States)
18-50

You will receive training in basic evangelism techniques, Irish culture as well as rehearsing the play to prepare you before touring around Irish midlands visiting schools and other community groups with a fun and entertaining Christmas show for the whole family.

We are looking for experienced actors who are passionate about Jesus and want to share the Gospel. Some training in the performing arts is preferable, but not essential - however you will need at least some amateur experience in acting, memorising and interpreting scripts and rehearsing.

It would be helpful if you are also skilled in other performing arts: music, dance, puppetry, singing, etc.

Team members need to be flexible and willing to try new things. A good level of English is required as all training and outreach activities will be in English. We accept married couples and will do our best to accommodate them together, however they may have separate sleeping accommodation.

Applicants will need to audition with OM Ireland via video before their application will be accepted.

Throughout the programme you will be staying at Lacken House. We provide beds/mattresses for all during this time but all participants should bring a sleeping bag and pillow if desired. We need to be informed in advance if you require a bed for medical reasons.

OM and the local churches you work with will ensure that you are fed during the programme. While you are at Lacken House you will share the preparation of your meals with your team. We need to be informed in advance of special dietary needs (vegetarian, etc...)

Please fly into Dublin airport on the morning of Saturday 20 November (before 12pm) where we will meet you and take you to Lacken House. You can then depart on the afternoon/evening of Monday 20 December and we will provide transport to Dublin Airport. How to find us: Meeting Instructions at Dublin Airport: Once you have collected your bags, leave through customs. Once through the double-doors, turn left, and look for the OM Ireland sign outside the Tourist Information Shop.

Please contact your local office if you have any health concerns.

EEA and Swiss nationals do not need a visa to enter Ireland for any reason. If you are not an EEA/Swiss national, you can visit Ireland for a period of three months without having to register with the immigration authorities, however some nationalities will require a visa before they leave their country of residence. Please check if you require a visa to enter as a visitor and we will provide a letter of invitation. For more information visit www.inis.gov.ie

More information about OM Ireland and our programmes can be found on our website www.ie.om.org. Once participants are accepted, we will send you some practical information including some frequently asked questions and a packing list.
