Short-term Missions Trip

Lifehope TiM - Teens in Mission in Southampton, UK (United Kingdom)

We want to equip, train and challenge Christian Teens to reflect Jesus Christ and to use their God given gifts to bring Hope to the World.
As a result, we hope to see the community here in Southampton impacted. We also hope that all participants will go away strengthened in their faith and with a deeper desire to share their faith with their friends back at home.

You will join with many international young people for a time of orientation and training to help you share your faith. You will then reach out to kids, youth and their families. Most days, there will also be NET times where you will meet in small groups to share and pray together.

The programme will aim to be varied and related to teenagers. You will be working with an established community project, building on the relationships that have already been developed over the years. Each year, we partner together with an organisation in a socially deprived area that offers a whole week of fun events for children, youth and their families. Based in the Dip Park, there will be kids clubs, face painting, hair braiding, nail painting, bouncy castle, sports, games, drama, dance, BBQs and lots of fun. Teenagers will have the opportunity to help out with the different activities and make friends with the people in the community.

We can take teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old. Young adults (20+) can be considered as group leaders. Participants need to have conversational English and be committed Christians. No previous evangelism experience is required, as training will be given.

You will be sleeping in church halls, so you need to be prepared and bring your sleeping bags and mats.

Food will be provided. We need to be informed in advance of special dietary requirements (vegetarian, etc...)

Travel costs are additional. For those attending TeenStreet, group travel will be arranged from the TeenStreet site to Southampton on the 4th August. For those not attending TeenStreet, we can pick you up at Southampton airport or Southampton Parkway train station.
You can leave on Saturday 14th after 3pm or on Sunday 15th in the morning. We can take you to Southampton airport or Southampton Parkway train station. We can give you travel advice so you know the cheapest and most direct way home.

We will arrange a meeting point at TeenStreet for those traveling as a group. For those joining direct, we will meet you at Southampton airport or Southampton Parkway train station.

Participants should be in good health. Each participant is responsible to obtain appropriate emergency health and medical insurance.

Nationals from the EU and EEA do not require a visa for the UK. For all other nationalities you will either require an invitation letter in order to apply for a visa before leaving your country or just an invitation letter to present at the airport on arrival in the UK. In both cases you will enter the UK as a Visitor.
