Programmes de formation sur le terrain
Beaucoup de ceux qui rejoignent OM n'ont pas eu de formation dans le ministère auparavant, et désirent suivre une formation tout en participant aux campagnes. Ces opportunités ont toutes un élément de formation qui est caractéristique des opportunités de ministère dans le contexte local. Le programme et le temps passé dans les différentes activités est variable. Certaines équipes sont organisées comme un centre de formation missionnaire avec un temps en salle de classe et un temps dans le ministère ; en ce qui concerne les autres équipes, la formation est plutôt organisée et arrangée individuellement. Les opportunités de formation missionnaires peuvent avoir divers aspects comme l'apprentissage de la langue, la connaissance des autres croyances, l'histoire des missions, la croissance spirituelle, la communication, comment vivre et servir dans un milieu multiculturel, partager sa foi, etc.
