Caen Kids Outreach 2009: France

In this outreach, we will be working with a local church actively seeking to evangelise their community. Our purpose is to come alongside them and bless this city with prayer and proclamation of the gospel.

The outreach will start with a mini-conference including Bible teaching and evangelism training for participants. Participants will learn the songs, games, stories and crafts for a week of kids clubs in the two main neighborhoods near the church. While this outreach will focus on childrens ministry, there is the possibility of some evening evangelism events, such as an International Night.

Ministry Details
The children in the "Grâce de Dieu" and the "Geurinière" neighborhoods will be out of school on spring break. The church, sometimes with OM, has already run kids clubs there. Children have come in droves and both they and their parents appreciate the programmes run for them.

We will divide up into two teams and spend five afternoons in each of the neighborhoods. The programme will include songs, informal sports (football) and organised games, face painting and balloon modeling, crafts, a Bible story and memory verse.

Participant Profile
We are looking for participants ready to be taught by and used of God during this campaign. English and French will be the team languages — participants should have conversation skills in at least one of the two. Those specifically interested in childrens ministry are strongly encouraged to apply!

Accommodation: Participants will sleep in church members' homes.

Food: Meals will be in church members' homes and at the church.

Travel: Participants will need to arrange their own travel to and from the outreach. Travel directly to Caen by plane, train, car. Participants should plan to arrive between 12 and 5pm on Saturday, 11 April. Participants should plan their departure for after 12pm on Sunday, 19 April. (If participants need to leave on Saturday, 18 April, to prepare for work/school on Monday, that is fine.)

How to Find Us: Participants should make their own way to Caen via Paris. There is a 2-hour train service from Paris to Caen. Participants arriving by train will be picked up at the Caen train station.

Health: Participants should be in reasonably good health, ready for an intense week of kids clubs. Any special needs (food allergies, special diet, a good bed due to back problems, etc) must be communicated as early as possible so that organisers can prepare to receive that person! Each participant should arrange personal medical insurance to cover the period of the campaign.

Visa: Some participants from non-European countries may require a visa. Those participants will need to begin their application process with the OM office in their country at least 1 month in advance of the application deadline given here. Please contact the OM office in your country for more information.
