Personnel officer: United Kingdom

OM UK is the national office for British people serving with OM. We're looking for two people to join a team of 5 in the personnel department in the UK office in Shropshire. Key areas of responsibility will include:
a) dealing with enquiries from applicants (we receive 120 enquiries a month). This will be the major part of the role.
b) helping in the selection, placement and preparation of applicants who are joining OM, including interviewing, communication with OM staff on-field, attending OM orientation conferences, etc.
c) helping to care and support OM staff on the field through email and telephone communication with them and their sending churches, visits to OMers on the field.

This role will involve a certain amount of administration, including maintaining information and administration of our application procedures. It will also include a lot of interaction with potential applicants.

  • Commitment Length: as long as possible (full time)
-People-friendly skills and attitude.
- Enthusiastic concern to see people get involved in world mission.
-A concern for the well-being of OM staff, whether short-term or long-term
-Previous OM or missions experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Experience in personnel-related employment will be a valuable asset, but is not essential.
-Ability to handle routine administration
-Some experience in the use of word-processing & the ability to write reasonably well. Communication with applicants, churches and OM staff will be an important feature of the role.
-Training in the use of in-house database software & spreadsheets will be given, but experience of these type of applications will be useful.

    communications team in accomplishing this strategy through various electronic and printed means. To produce material that promotes the ministries of OM Lifehope in raising up workers, prayer and finance.

  • Ethnic Evangelist, OM Lifehope
    If you have a passion for sharing the love of God with some of the least-reached ethnic communities within the United Kingdom OM Lifehope has openings for you. Become part of an established team of experienced and trainee workers. You will have opportunities to meet, develop relationships with and share the love of God with mainly Asian people from other faiths. You will share your faith with people settled here, as well as refugees and overseas students. As part of OM Lifehope you will be involved in training, encouraging and mentoring others in this type of outreach, including church members. You will be involved in developing a mid to long-term strategy for evangelism and discipleship. Hands-on training and ministry development will be provided.
