Director of Recruiting: Canada

To help increase the promotion of OM ministries to Canadians so that more churches and individuals will see how they can be involved in world missions. To champion the need for workers in and outside the OM world.

This person is a facilitator, taking initiatives, providing services and motivation that will result in more people joining OM from Canada.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Commitment Length: +3 years (full time)
1. To develop a recruiting strategy for OM Canada.
This will be successfully completed when:
• All the area representatives and recruiters in Canada have contributed.
• Adequate research has been done, visiting churches, schools, pastors and individuals across the country.

2. To train and equip recruiters in Canada.
This will be successfully completed when:
• Recruiters in Canada have had an opportunity to add to their skills and tools for the task.(eg. brochures, AV’s, dramas, training sessions, ideas, etc)
• The people leaving OM have been equipped or helped to be recruiters as much as they are able.

3. To coordinate meetings across the country.
This will be successfully completed when:
• Done in partnership with area representatives (if there are any)
• Schedules for presentation teams and visiting OM speakers are arranged.
• Presentation teams and visiting OM speakers are properly briefed in their role.
• All logistical arrangements have been made for the team or speaker.
• We take advantage of opportunities to do seminars at Missions Fest conferences.

4. To develop relationships with existing Christian groups in secular university/college campuses
This will be successfully completed when:
• IVP or Nav or CC staff have been identified and visited.

5. To help represent missions (especially OM) in conferences/meetings across the country.
This will be successfully completed when:

6. To help represent OM Canada in the International Recruiting Forum.
This will be successfully completed when:
• We network with other recruiters around the OM world in order to learn and contribute.
• OM Canada is kept informed of recruiting resources, tools and other aids available in and out of OM.

* Must have served with OM cross-culturally.
* Must have good communication skills.
* Must be comfortable working with people and be able to relate well with people from all walks of life and ages.
* Must be committed to present the whole work of OM.
* Must be willing to travel (within OM guidelines).
* Must be based in the Port Colborne area.

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

South Asia Presentation Team in Canada

At the end of February 2006, two girls and a guy headed out for Canada and the outspread reaches of the Prairies. Two were Asia Challenge Team people, one from OM Nepal. Their task: to bring South Asia into the lives of those living in the Prairie towns. Their aim: to enthuse young Christians and challenge their worldview on what God is doing.
