Local Church Worker - Greece: Greece

Team members working with a local church could be helping with some of the following: bible studies, worship, youth work, Sunday School, children's programmes, one-to-one discipleship, training and development, serving practically, teaching and other involvement in church programmes and special events.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Commitment Length: 2-3 years (full time)
Ministry language is Greek and the first year is spent in language study. Willingness to serve under local church leadership. Some experience helpful.

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.

  • Childrens Worker - Greece
    Cooperating with local churches to support their ministry to children. Can include Sunday School, kids clubs, summer camps, vacation bible school/ holiday bible club, training children's workers, helping churches develop new methods for children's ministry. Usually part-time children's work and team member will also be involved in other ministries as well depending on the individual's giftings.
  • Local Church Worker - Greece

    OM Team members in this ministry will also be expected to learn greek and have some involvement in some ministries of the local greek church and/or OM's local work according to gifting and skills.
  • Sports Ministry -Greece
    Developing relationships through sport. Helping local churches to develop sports ministry and, when there is appropriate experience and skills, doing training.

    This ministry is mostly with children and youth. Sports that are popular in Greece are basketball, football (soccer) and volleyball, although there is also some interest in other sports. It has even been possible to do training in sports that are not normally played here, such as baseball.

    Team members in this ministry will also be expected to learn greek and have some involvement in other ministries of the local greek church.
  • Student Worker - Greece
    University and college students are often highly motivated to learn new skills such as computing, music and foreign languages. Team members could serve the student community and build relationships.
