Human Resources - Publicity and Administration: New Zealand

OM New Zealand has a position that would suit a couple sharing a role in publicizing, training and administrating our recruits.

This position deals specifically with the advertising for, training and processing of new recruits, developing relationships with recruits’ churches, supporters and families.

  • Commitment Length: as long as possible (full time)
Key tasks include but are not exclusive to:

•Promoting OM as a destination for missions recruits from New Zealand.

•Developing and modifying recruiting processes.

•Interviewing and making the initial decisions on new recruits to OM.

•Contacting and visiting recruits’ home churches and families to inform them about the work of OM, to develop relationships and answer questions.

•Communicate with New Zealanders who are on OM, their churches and supporters to keep relationships close and be proactive in dealing with any problems that may occur.

•Maintain an accurate and informative database of all the people and organisations with whom you are dealing.

•Having input in all advertising and promotional materials and events tilted at gaining and training recruits.


Relationships:
This person/couple will be answerable directly to the Field Leader.

Expected Outcomes:
Under this person/couple, we expect that the recruiting process will become uniform and efficient in the handling of all applications. We anticipate the development of warm and trusting ties with our client base. We also expect that our dealings with all people will be speedy, accurate and warm on all occasions. The efficiency of this work done would be gaged by a greater ratio of applications to recruits who do leave for the field and a greater retention rate of those on the field over a longer period.

Specifications:
We are seeking a person/couple who have had experience within OM or another mission’s movement. They would be computer literate with excellent written and oral English skills. Unless they are New Zealand or Australian citizens, they will also be required to have formal tertiary qualifications in this discipline for work permit requirements.

Terms and conditions:

1.As a member of the OMNZ team, you may within reasonable limits set your own level of remuneration to be covered by your own support. Factors to be taken into consideration are a 21% NZ tax rate, OM internal administration charges (OMNZ does not charge this, but 2% of gifts received in New Zealand is still required to be sent to GDF and ICT), accommodation, transport, superannuation etc.

2.Vehicle costs are determined by a rate per kilometre business use. There are no OM vehicles except for the TEA vans.

3.Twenty working days leave per year and three months home or extended leave every two years are granted to all.

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
