Country Director for local NGO: Central Asia

Our NGO, located in "roof of the world" capitol Central Asian city, is looking for a new COUNTRY DIRECTOR. This should be a person of vision and compassion, desiring to make a difference in a land weary of war. This would include leading the current work, overseeing personnel and finances, and expanding and initiating new projects as opportunities arise. (M)
  • Start Date: Mon 01 Sep 2008
  • Commitment Length: 2-3 years (full time)
1. Willing to learn a new language
2. Experience with NGO work/reielf work preferred
3. Leadership experience
4. Willing to travel to different regions/projects

Job opportunities in Central Asia

  • Audio studio manager
    We have a nice well equipped audio studio, ready to use. We would love to use it to record music and stories in different Central Asian languages, so that we can share the good news. We are looking for someone who can manage the studio and keep it in good order.
  • Chinese (Mandarin) teacher
    Teaching Chinese (Mandarin)at a university in a medium sized city.
    More and more people are interested to learn this language. It gives good opportunities to develop relationships with students and fellow teachers.
  • Church Planters
    We are looking for people who have a passion for sharing Gods love with people of a different religion and culture. The focus is on learning the language well, adjusting culturally and developing good ministry skills. This will involve extensive language study although this can often be combined with other relevant interests (teaching, sport, music, mercy and compassion ministries etc.).

    You will be working amongst the unreached in a predominantly Muslim area.
  • Community Development Workers
    Offering your skills to assist the local community - medical work, agricultural, food processing, technical, teaching and training for children & families, orphans, prison work are some examples.
  • Computer Skills Teacher
    Teaching computer skills in a local educational center. Training people to become computer teachers according international standards. Variety of levels available.
