English/Literacy teachers in Southern Turkey: Turkey

Several teaching opportunities are available in a southern Turkish city that is home to 1.5 million Turkish and Kurdish children, teens and adults. The teaching positions are to work with some of the poorest communities in this city and its surrounding areas, finding creative, innovative and visionary ways to form relationship with people struggling to cope with a vast array of needs and then work to help meet those needs.

Are you an outgoing, creative individual that could teach English, or even Turkish literacy? Do you have vision to see, that for this project, your role goes beyond the classroom, needing the desire to build relationship with a community and the individuals in it, with a view to sharing God’s love through word and deed? Do you have a taste for Turkish tea and love walking through life with people?

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Commitment Length: as long as possible (full time)
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then here are the desired requirements for these posts:
The commitment to learning Turkish thoroughly
The ability to be flexible
A heart for the poor
Relevant experience, (teaching/working with poor communities)

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
