Associate Field Leader: Australia

To assist the National Director in the development of the ministry of OM Australia.
Areas of responsibility include leadership, pastoral care, teaching, church partnership and recruiting, allowing the National Director to give attention to responsibilities within his major areas of gifting.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Commitment Length: 1-2 years (full time)
1 Leadership – the ability to motivate and empower the members of the Head Office Team to successfully fulfill the responsibilities as set out in their PRD’s and grow in their areas of ministry.

2 Administration – be able to relate to the Head Office Department Heads and the Field Leader to facilitate and develop the following three key areas:
a) Communication
b) Management
c) Productivity

3 Understanding of Mission – to understand and appreciate the purpose of OM Australia and passionately support its aims and objectives.

4 Change Implementation –

a) To be able to identify potential areas of growth in Head Office Departments and implement change in order to enhance productivity.

b) To keep abreast of new initiatives and have the ability to implement them successfully

  • Evangelist
    We are looking for people who have a passion for sharing Gods love with people of a different religion and culture.
    MAP, in the heart of Sydney’s multicultural community has lots of opportunities. 
    Through various Evangelistic outreaches such as Literature and Video distribution, as well as through basic support services such as English tutoring you will build friendships with immigrants of Central Asian and Middle Eastern background.
    According to your previous experiences we will provide training for you. As international team in cooperation with ethnic churches we offer formal- and “on the job” training in friendship evangelism and discipling.
  • Global Challenge Co-ordinator
    Love life and working with young Christians, helping them to grow spiritually; to find and develop their gifts; and to be passionate about mission. Be part of a team organizing and running short term training and outreach events.
    Work with a wide range of churches and in a very multicultural community and team.
  • English Teacher
    1) Teaching English for new Australians from predominantly Asian countries

    2) Teaching English to Korean Global Challenge participants in Sydney

    3) Helping in conversation Cafe for new Aussies

    4) Teaching English to Korean Global Action rectuits on their way to the field, in Lithgow (NSW) from May to August.
  • Personnel Administrator
    Assist the Personnel Manager in processing applications for Global Action & Global Service applicants.
  • Assistant to the Executive Administrator (National Office)
    Requirements: Great Gap Year opportunity for a person who would like to gain mission experience in Australia! This full-time position, based in Melbourne, requires a person who is well-presented and well-spoken, organised and able to use basic computer software for data entry, word processing and email. Includes front-desk reception plus a variety of general administration duties. Must be able to multi-task and work in a busy team environment. Must have a desire to serve God in missions. Opportunity exists for a short-term mission trip during the 12-month contract. Assistance with financial support-raising will be given.

The outreach focuses on evangelism and mission, with Jan Den Ouden (Netherlands) involved in training and preparation along with OM Australia.

English School

The Korean Oceania Team has started an English school for migrants in the northern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Six Korean team members attend the classes with the aim of building relationships and inviting participants to a Café outreach which runs each Thursday evening.
