Church Planter - Santay Island: EcuadorSantay Island is situated in the river which forms the eastern border of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. It is home to about 200 people, abandoned by the world for 50 years, and currently without an established church . For the last few years OM has been ministering part time here in partnership with a local church in the city, and a good relationship has been established with the people. The time is ripe to really press on towards an established church, but no one has been found to take on the challenge.
1. A willingness to learn Spanish well. We will provide formal classes. 2. A willingness to "rough it" (mosquitos, waterlogged ground) 3. Bible teaching ability. 4. Discipling ability. 5. Can relate to youth. 6. Some church planting experience preferable, though not essential. Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
