Join an exciting new programme for young people taking a year out! Live in 2 European countries bringing God's message of hope. Work in international teams in the UK for the first 5 months and Switzerland for the next 6 months.

During the first three weeks of orientation, in Birmingham (UK), learn how to share the gospel and be trained in skills for evangelism. Then join a church-based Community Encounter Team reaching out to the neighbourhood through kids and youth ministry, friendship evangelism, community projects and visitation.

Move on to Switzerland and spend the next six 6 months in Zurich. Join an inner-city based team reaching out to needy people alongside local churches. Ministries are relationship based and include a drop-in centre for drug addicts, a children's club, visitation, evangelistic prayer and outreach with the Salvation Army. Take more initiative and responsibility as you develop your ministry.

Start Date: Sat 01 Aug 2009
Commitment Length: 6-12 months (full time)

**A good level of conversational English.
**Willingness to learn basic German.
**No experience needed as full training will be given by experienced leaders.

Commitment length: 9 to 12 months

An outdoor adventure week is part of team building and leadership development training in September, plus a New Year outreach in a different city (in UK).

If lacking basic German, you will attend some classes to integrate better into the culture. You will also take part in a two day team building trip in the mountains in February and a short outreach in the summer, possibly in a different city (in Switzerland).

Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
