Sharing hope on the Streets

English/Espanol

In the multi-cultural mix of Hamburg, crewmembers have discovered that their lack of knowledge of German has not been a barrier to communication. "Never in my life have I met so many Spanish speakers!" marvelled Pabla Contreras (Chile), after a weekend spent working with a church street ministry.

Meeting Nella, a transvestite prostitute from Ecuador, Pabla was able to share the love of God with her in her native language. Thinking back on the life she had chosen for herself, Nella had doubts as to whether, at such a late stage, a change was possible. Nevertheless, she was open to hearing from God.

"If He touches me, I can change," she told Pabla. Please pray for the many prostitutes on the streets of Hamburg who are trapped in these lifestyles of pain and misery, and for the ministry of churches and other organisations among them.
