Two years ago Alex and Julie Paniagua, from OM Costa Rica, accepted an invitation from Rosemary Hack with AIDSLink in South Africa to participate in a year-long HIV/AIDS training and exposure programme. As the couple became more aware of the world-wide pandemic, and were given a chance to minister to those who suffered from the disease, God birthed an excitement in their hearts. They are now heading up AIDSLink in Central America.

“I saw that [AIDSLink] was an open door for us to introduce Jesus,” said Julie. “When we were in India and spoke to people who were HIV positive, they were so hungry and thirsty for hope.”

In Costa Rica, the couple hopes to involve churches, implement programmes within schools to raise awareness among the younger generation, and partner with local ministries that are already working within high-risk groups.

Pray for wisdom for Alex and Julie as they begin connecting with churches and ministries in Costa Rica. Pray that the Lord raises up more workers for the AIDSLink ministry around the world.

AIDSLINK ECHA RAÍCES – Costa Rica

Dos años atrás, Alex y Julie Paniagua de OM Costa Rica, aceptaron la invitación de Rosemary Hack de AIDSLink (Ministerio del SIDA de OM) en Sudáfrica para participar de un entrenamiento de un año sobre VIH/SIDA y un programa de campo. Mientras este matrimonio tomaba mayor conciencia de esta pandemia mundial y tenían la oportunidad de ministrar entre los que sufren esta enfermedad, Dios hizo nacer algo en sus corazones. Ahora están creando el ministerio de AIDSLink en Centroamérica.

“Vi que AIDSLink era una puerta abierta para poder presentar a Jesús”, dijo Julie. “Cuando estuvimos en India y hablamos con gente que era VIH positiva, ellos estaban muy hambrientos y sedientos de esperanza”.

En Costa Rica, los Paniagua esperan involucrar a iglesias, implementar programas en escuelas para despertar la conciencia entre la generación joven, y asociarse con ministerios locales que ya están trabajando entre los grupos de alto riesgo.

Ora por sabiduría para Alex y Julie cuando ellos se contacten con iglesias y ministerios en Costa Rica. Ora para que el Señor levante más obreros para el ministerio de AIDSLink alrededor del mundo.

Holy Week Harvest

Over 300 volunteers from across Latin America and the USA gathered in Costa Rica for a special outreach during Holy Week. After two days of training and preparation, teams headed out to serve local communities in partnership with local churches.

The following are highlights of our recent outreach in the Atlantic zone of Costa Rica, March 31 – April 6. The entire event was a dream and vision for more than a year that took numerous trips, prayer meetings and planning sessions and in reality was five campaigns in one, which included all the planning and blessing of a mega outreach with over 315 international and national volunteers.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer una pre-campaña, donde la idea era poder llevar acabo una cena con más de 40 personas entre ellas el staff, junta directiva e invitados especiales, con el conferencista Richard Sharp, que tiene mas de 30 años de trabajar con OM, Dios realmente hablo al corazón de muchos y por sobre todo nos llevo a la reflexión de cual era el propósito y nuevas armas a tomar para la campaña y que se cumpliera lo que dice Isaías 54:2 ¨Extender la Mano a la Cosecha¨.
