Sharing our SecretsOM InternationalRecently my wife & I visited a new believer in our city here at the eastern end of the Turkish Mediterranean. In the upstairs flat of the 2-story cottage we met our friend, her brother and sister and their widowed mother (who's probably in her early 60s). It was she who started "sharing our secrets". While drinking the tea she simply said, "My grandmother was a foreigner." As we together decoded this message we suddenly discovered that she has Armenian roots. "So you're technically a Christian" I joked, and then to the younger sister, "You must all start attending church with your sister." To our surprise she revealed another secret, "Actually, I have a great interest in these things, too". Later as we prepared to return home my wife prayed for our friend's foot to heal of its painful open sores. Our friend stayed back, her brother and sister accompanied us to the bus stop. On the way I asked the brother about his family. He told me another secret: in the downstairs flat he had a married older brother with whom they never spoke because of his behaviour towards their mother. This was news! Please pray for * our friend's broken family to step into the Light of the Gospel * more workers to come and make house visits * the Lord to awaken the hearts of Turks who have Christian roots. (During our city's recent International Festival of Short Films we watched with 30-40 Turks a film on today's Orthodox Church of SE Turkey).
