The Saraguro people

OM International

A misty, magnificent area high in the Ecuadorian Andes, the province of
Saraguro boasts green valleys and tall mountains. This year OM worked
together with the two evangelical churches in these mountains to equip
and train those attending OM Ecuador's mission school. At the school the
students were challenged for mission and prayer, equipped in evangelism
and encouraged to greater spiritual commitment. The team prayed for
spiritual breakthrough for the Saraguro people, and fellowshipped
together with the believers though music and food (one special lunch was
of guinea pig, which was an honour met with mixed reactions from the
team!).

The people of Saraguro are special in the eyes of OM Ecuador. The people
are gentle, funny, timid, industrious, responsible and respectful. In
the region where the majority of the Saraguro people live there are only
two churches (0.2 percent of the population is evangelical). While OM
Ecuador praises God for growth during the mission school, they know that
there are 30,000 other Saraguro people who need to hear about God's
love.

Please pray for OM Ecuador as they reach out to the Saraguro people.
Pray that God gives them wisdom to know how to spread the Good News
throughout the entire people group.
