Justice needed in court case

In 2000, the OM EAST team (then known as OM GE) sold a property in Grosmugl, Austria, near where the team is based. The buyer sued the team, claiming OM had sold him an unsafe building, nicknamed the Mug. Over the years there have been several positive and negative verdicts, appeals and counter-appeals. In the claimant’s most recent demand, he said that the building was worth less than half of what he originally paid for it. He’s asking for OM EAST to buy the Mug back (according to his subsequent valuation) and give him the rest in cash.

Last week, OM EAST received a letter from their lawyer that states the claimant is trying to make the building worth even less (originally 48,000 EUR) and claims that the building is not even legal. Under Austrian law, if the claimant can prove his case, this would make the original purchase contract invalid, and could cost OM EAST over 200,000 Euros, including legal and court fees.

On Wednesday, 24 September, the team is meeting with their lawyer to pray and discuss how to move forward. “This is very discouraging for the team - we have had this case hanging over us for 8 years now,” said Steve Thompson, FL for OM EAST. “We cry out for help to the only just judge, the Lord himself. We are praying for a miracle and kindly ask you to please pray for and with us.”
