 Austria
Austria was one of the first ministry fields of OM. In 1961, the first evangelistic summer outreaches took place in Austria and since then several thousand young Christians have spent their summer holidays or even up to two years in Austria in order to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. With approximately 8 million people, Austria is one of the most unreached Roman Catholic countries of our world, with less than 1% evangelicals.
OM Austria coordinates the recruiting, training and support of Austrian workers throughout OM worldwide. In addition, the team is involved in raising mission awareness in Austrian churches through newsletters, conferences, presentation teams, Global Focus seminars, and a music ministry called HeartBeat.
OM Austria also seeks to motivate both churches and individuals into a greater participation in world mission through short-term outreaches and TeenStreet. Recently, a integration-project has been established among immigrants near the city of Linz. Workers are also involved in church planting ministries in more rural parts of the country.
OM Austria has strong links to local churches and other mission organisations. As part of the vision toward seeing greater intermission cooperation, OM Austria, in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators Austria founded the Centre for World Missions in Linz (upper Austria). The Centre provides both office space and a conference room for the mission agencies, and has room for other organizations.

OM EAST – EurAsia Support Team
Eurasia is populated by diverse people groups hardly known to many – Groups with their own cultures and languages, often not in written form – Groups that suffer from persecution, the after-effects of Communism and poverty.
OM EAST seeks to serve and strengthen the Church in Eurasia, especially in the former communist countries. Based near Vienna, Austria, our diverse ministries include voicing the needs of forgotten peoples through our team publications and supplying them with Christian literature and multimedia. We also support other missionaries by gathering materials and resources for their diverse missions and seek to provide short-term, emergency help in catastrophic situations. OM EAST also cooperates with other ministries to facilitate competent training for specific needs, such as the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
