There are almost 40,000,000 people in Poland. 95% see themselves as Roman Catholics.

Since the collapse of Communist rule, the Catholic Church has reasserted its traditionally strong role in national affairs and desire to establish a state based on Catholic principles and theology. Non-Catholics fear the eroson of their present freedoms that could lead to discrimination and even intolerance.

OM's role in Poland is to strengthen the Polish Evangelical Church and to motivate and mobilise Polish believers for evangelism at home and for mission abroad.

The strengthening of the Polish Evangelical Church takes place through helping in church planting projects, working alongside and discipling young people, providing hands-on training in evangelism and by more general ministry to churches and pastors. Most of this is being done by Love Europe and Global Action teams, alongside long-term staff.

Mobilising for evangelism at home is done mainly by involving young people in short-term outreaches, like Love Europe campaigns and Global Action teams.

Mobilising for missions abroad is done mainly by encouraging Polish Christians to support Gods work around the world through a Polish OM newsletter and by involving Poles in programmes in India and Russia.
