OM Romania began full-time ministry in January 1992, two years after the fall of the Socialist Regime on Dec. 22, 1989 and the subsequent execution of dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. For over 20 years prior to starting a ministry in Romania, OM was actively involved in smuggling Christian literature into Romania for the persecuted church.

The primary focuses of OM Romania's ministry today is training, mobilising and children’s work.  The team's strategy is to strive to motivate and mobilize the Romanian church to local evangelism and world mission by various activities: conferences, church meetings, and short-term missions trainings programs, i.e., “Action Teams.” Since 1992, approximately 400 Romanians have participated in short-term missions (2-6 weeks) with OM Romania.

OM Romania is based in Ghimbav, a small village near Brasov in the center of the country.

Job opportunities in Romania

  • Childrens worker
    Our youth evangelism is focussed on creating relationships between youth in the churches and the non-believing youth around them. In this we often try to use sports and fellowship as binding factors. In 2006 we started working with the local churches in Ghimbav but we are actively searching to expand the number of churches we work with.
  • Hospitality
    Together with the hospitality manager you are responsible for hosting guests that make use of our facilities. You will be helping with the housekeeping, cooking and taking care of the guests.
  • IT manager
    We have a need for somebody that can maintain our computer systems. At this time we have 1 server and 5 workstations, but we are anticipating a growth in numbers in the near future. You will be working on Linux, internet and Windows workstations. Your job will be updating the software, maintaining the hardware and making budgets for future investments. You should also be available to help users solve their computer problems. 
  • Public Relations
    OM in Romania is a field that has the potential to grow. We want to create a larger awareness of the possibilities we offer, through good communications in newsletters and websites in both English and Romanian. Your job will be to develope, create and sent our publications. Also you will be responsible for maintaining our database.
  • Sports ministry
    In the last few years we have experienced many possibilities for evengelism through sports. For this reason we are organising Kids and community games throughout Romania. You will be involved in organising and leading sports outreaches.
