Participants will help with the preparation and serving of food at the feeding ministry for the homeless. They will help sort and distribute clothing for those in need. During the outreach, they will distribute tracks, and sing Christmas carols. Participants will help lead worship and share their testimonies at the church services. Participants will also help clean in the church and local area.

Participant profile

Participants must be ready and willing to serve. We are looking for participants who can play the guitar, and/or are comfortable and able to sing. Participants should also be comfortable witnessing to people outside of the church.

It is a bonus if participants are able and willing to drive in Greece. They must know how to drive a manual transmission

Participants will be staying in the church’s guesthouse on-site. Volunteers should expect to have roommates. Volunteers may be required to climb several flights of stairs if a lift is unavailable. If special accommodation is required, please inquire with the STM coordinator. We cannot guarantee that married couples will be housed together.

Meals will be provided by the church.

Participants are responsible for arranging their travel to and from Athens International Airport. The airport code is “ATH.” Participants should arrive before 18:00 on the scheduled arrival day and will be picked up and dropped off at the airport by an OM team member. Groups should arrive and depart together.

Participants must be in good health and physically able to stand, bend, lift, and walk. Athens is a large city and volunteers must be able to walk long distances and climb hills/stairs.

Citizens of the EU, Schengen Member States, USA, and Canada do not need a visa for this outreach. All others may need a visa. If a visa is required, and a fee is involved, it is the participant’s responsibility to pay the fee.

We are putting together a team of people from different countries for this outreach. A minimum of 5 volunteers must confirm before we can move ahead with the outreach. If we do not have 5 confirmed volunteers, the outreach will be cancelled.
