##CANCELLED## Arts Outreach around Lamb of God
Belgium has a long Catholic tradition, but at the moment the vast majority of the population are atheists. Belgium has a rich history of art and culture, but in many churches art only depicts a Jesus hanging on a cross. This year, Belgium celebrates Jan van Eijk, a famous painter from the fifteenth centry, known for the his triptych: The Lamb of God that can be seen in the ST Baafs Cathedral of Ghent. This triptych has survived 600 years of history and also has a very important message for the viewer today: namely that Jesus lives and that eternal life can be found with Him. During the outreach, we want to focus on this painting and let residents of Belgium see and hear the message of the risen Jesus through various art forms.
When signing up for this outreach you will receive more information about the background of the artwork the Lamb of God. If you live in Canada, you can use this link to apply now https://fs12.formsite.com/OMCanada/form17/form_login.html Price excludes airfare, insurance or any possible vaccinations and is subject to foreign exchange rates.
We are looking for visual artists who want to participate in this project. Artists will create a work of art or experience for the outreach based on this painting in which people are confronted with the message. The purpose of the artwork / expierence is that people are challenged to participate in the experience that the artwork invites to.
