Women's Empowerment - Africa

As in most parts of the underdeveloped world, the life of a woman is not easy and Africa is no exception.  The social value of women is low, they are unnoticed by their own culture and many do not have rights.  They disproportionately suffer the consequences of chronic underdevelopment that leads to illiteracy & early marriages. When widowed, they face many obstacles in caring for their children, and are often forced into the sex trade and other forms of slavery.

Without a beacon of hope being spread, these ladies grow up exploited & multiplying the cycle of poverty and oppression.  However, when a woman is empowered, her whole family and community is impacted.  Women’s Empowerment Africa aims to see women across Africa holistically empowered and living as vibrant followers of Jesus.  The most vulnerable of society are being reached through physical, spiritual & economic empowerment such as skills training, business training & small loans, educational sponsorships & various disciple making efforts.  There are around 200 million women in Africa that are still waiting to experience the love of Jesus.  Join with us in impacting these women for eternity!

Economic Empowerment
Through micro-business training, women are able to start their own small business that provides an income and also positively impacts their community.  Women are taught to form their own savings & loans group where they meet regularly to save, discuss ways of growing their businesses & also do discovery Bible studies.

$150 sponsors a business training for 15 women.
$200 provides a small loan to one woman.

Education
Very few girls make it past grade 8 due to early marriage and/or pregnancies.  Without education, girls are set on a path to poverty.  Many girls are motivated to return to school, and often all it takes is someone to believe in them and sponsor their school fees.

$250 sponsors one year of school for a teen girl

Skills Training
Tabitha Skills Training centres are empowering marginalized women through skills & discipleship.  Women are equipped with skills like sewing, beading, catering, shoe making, literacy, micro-business & gardening.  Through discovery Bible study they also learn what it means to follow Jesus and how to share what they are learning with other women in their community.

$500 purchases a good quality sewing machine & start-up materials for growing Tabitha projects

$30 buys an audio-Bible for an illiterate woman

Disciple Making Training
Christian women are taken through 6-12 month intensive DMM (disciple making movement) training process where they discover their identity as a woman in God's mission, learn how to practically reach the lost in their own community, start Bible discovery groups that multiply & equip women with various practical skills.

$1,500 Sponsors a DMM training in DRC, Tanzania, Zambia, Ghana or Malawi

$5,000 sponsors a DMM Training in the Sahel region of North Africa for 20 women from 4 countries
