  • With vibrant communities, seeing is believing

"Indeed, there are so many variables as we ‘see’ vibrant communities develop among the least-reached peoples. As we work towards this vision, I nevertheless fall back on the age-old cliché that my father stressed repeatedly: 'We are not called to be successful, but called to be faithful.'"

Sent out, two by two

“I love how Jesus sent out His disciples two by two, with practical instructions about what to do and how to be,” says Peter*, a long-term worker with OM in Kosovo. “When we seek to follow that pattern here, we’re having God-arranged encounters with people in whose lives He’s already starting to work.”

Peter is thrilled to share two recent experiences where events unfolded in just this way.

The first came when Peter was invited in September to equip and encourage a local church in concepts of disciple-making. In the training session, he taught them three key components. Simply put: meet someone and offer to pray for them; share a story from the Bible about Jesus with them; and then invite the person to a Discovery Bible Study. Why OM?

At its heart, OM is a movement of God, made up of people who are completely sold out to Jesus Christ and His commands. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we cross boundaries, we push limits. We want OM to remain a movement of God, utterly dependent upon Him. We show our dependence through our commitment to His Word and by waiting upon Him in prayer.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.”  – PSALM 96:3
