Our vision for Namibia is to plant a “Ministry House” in every village or community in the country. These houses would be places for believers to meet for prayer, teaching, training and discipleship, ultimately equipping them to transform their community starting with the least-reached. In addition to equipping believers for local ministry, we are also involved in mobilising, preparing and sending new workers from Namibia into Namibia and abroad!
After Mongolia, Namibia is the least densely populated country in the world with three inhabitants per square kilometer. Though well-known for its wildlife, it seems to be the landscape, climate and hospitable people that attract visitors to Namibia. Approximately half of the population lives below the poverty line, and the nation has suffered tremendously from the effects of HIV/AIDS. Namibia has the fourth highest AIDS infection rate in the world with 25% of adults and young people currently affected.
As other African countries, unfortunately the church in Namibia lacks of a solid understanding of God’s Word, leaving a vacuum in Christianity shown and lived in community and openness to syncretism and other beliefs. We want to come alongside believers and open the Word with them, beginning from there first and foremost. We also have a strong calling to the younger generation, who will one day lead Namibia.
Missions Discipleship Training
With different opportunities for exposure into missions, we have different opportunities to engage in programs, outreaches, or courses depending on the individual.
Katima Mulilo (North East)
Our Co-worker and her team are working together with the local church through weekly Bible studies, selling Bibles/Literature on the local market, visiting the local prison and schools on a regular basis and have kid's clubs. Deep and meaningful relationships are already established in the community since starting about a year ago. The Lozi-speaking group is the main people group that is being ministered to.
Okangwati (North West)
A small village town where the different tribes of Kaokoland visit our Ministry House. Our Co-workers currently host about 15 high school learners. They focus to discipleship the new generation through allowing them to stay with them, through prayer/teachings and Bible studies.
We have the Training Programmes available at our Okahandja Ministry House, including a Discipleship Training (2 months). We are also a Home Care base to receive co-workers from different areas/ministries for a time of rest/spiritual input and training in specific areas of ministry.
Our Ministry House at Schlip is situated in the Southern part of the country. Our Co-worker with her team host outreach groups and reach out to the small towns/villages in the southern part of the country to reach the sick, the poor and those in prison.
Our team is reaching out to the Toppenaars people group and is involved with the children at the pre-school.
