Thailand

Thailand lies centrally on the Mekong River with Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Due to its strategic location, the nation has become an exciting hub of local and regional mission work with diverse ministries. The country is known as the “Land of the Free” or the “Land of Smiles” but those same descriptors do not apply to its spiritual landscape.

The Gospel has been preached for almost 200 years in Thailand but only 1% of the people are Christians. Out of 4,000 local churches, 2,000 of them do not have pastors. The urgent need in Thailand is raising up church leadership among the next generation. Therefore, OM Thailand is partnering with local churches to mobilize and equip the nation’s future leaders.

OM Thailand is committed to sending Thai missionaries to the least-reached people groups in the Mekong Region and throughout the world. Our team has been operating for less than a decade and has sent out almost 40 Thai workers. We are privileged to have legal NGO status under the Thai government and the committed support from three, major denominations in Thailand.

OM Thailand

OM Thailand’s goal is to develop future workers and leaders among the youth and young adults to serve in churches at home and overseas. We are working towards this goal through church partnerships, university ministry, church planting, outreach programmes, and discipleship training.

Campus Ministry

Since 2003, OM Thailand has been running a weekly campus ministry at King Mongkhut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), one of the best engineering schools in Thailand. Through teaching English, we are bringing these future leaders of Thailand to Christ and have birthed two churches through students.

Kindergarten Ministry

Every Wednesday, our team teaches English and the Bible to 200 kindergarten children at Immanuel Kindergarten School (operated by Immanuel Baptist Church). We partner with the church, fully believing in the power of letting the “little children come to Him” at an early age.The children all come from non-believing families and, at this crucial learning stage, get to hear the Bible and sing the praises of Jesus in their classroom.

Homeless Ministry

Every Thursday, we partner with local churches to distribute food, clothes, and full water bottles to Thai people experiencing homelessness at Bangkok’s central train station (Hua Lunphong). We worship together and pray for them individually. It’s an incredible platform for Christians from many different churches to pray and share God’s love with a local, unreached people group.

Y2PM (Young Professional & Prayer Mission)

Y2PM Fellowship is a monthly, multi-church prayer meeting for young Christian professionals. The participants have the opportunity to hear from seasoned followers of the Lord on how to go deeper and serve Him wholeheartedly.

Building off of these meetings, Y2PM Rally is an exciting, twice-a-year missions awareness conference for young Thai adults to learn about opportunities to serve God abroad. We use this conference to also recruit Thai missionaries to serve overseas.
