The coronavirus has taken thousands of lives and impacted every country in the world. As markets, coffee shops, churches and public squares shut down, people who have not yet experienced the hope and promise of the Gospel are isolated in their homes, without community or care, and often without income. Refugees and the homeless are more alone than ever as camps and shelters fight to stay open amidst dwindling resources and panic over communal living.

COVID-19 threatens God’s mission through fear, quarantines and scarcity. Now more than ever, we must push forward with the light of Jesus, providing relief for the marginalized and reinforcements for our missions workers in the field.

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Galatians‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭NIV‭‭

Workers like Henry and his wife

With the streets quiet and movement limited, ministry work in Israel has grown difficult. But Henry and his wife have found alternate ways to share God’s love. They text neighbours to check on their health and ask what they need. If they pass fellow residents in the hallway of the building complex where they live, they speak words of love and care, reassuring people that God is in control of the situation.

During this time, they are working hard to stay connected to their small community of new believers. From messaging words of encouragement to each other and organising online prayer meetings, to using video conferencing for fellowship, they remain active but know they can do more.

Your gift of $34/month can help church planters like Henry feed their families and provide for extra needs and support across their new faith community during these times.

Workers like Anne

In a poor shanty compound in sub-Saharan Africa you’ll find Mercy House, a day care centre for children and a safe house for young girls who have been trafficked or abused. The kids at Mercy House’s day care are given food, a basic academic education, Biblical teaching, and a foundation in prayer.

As a result of the threat of COVID-19, schools have been closed — including Mercy House. The girls from the safe house were moved to an alternate location, but the day care students who receive daily meals now stay home each day. Anne, a worker at Mercy House, takes comfort in knowing the children are strong in prayer and have practised giving God all their needs and worries, but she also knows that Mercy House was the main source of food for many of the children.

Your one-time gift of $75 can help compassionate ministry workers like Anne provide care and support to vulnerable populations during this crisis.
