The Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago in Spanish) is a world-renowned pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to Spain for this hike. It is also considered to be one of the most open areas in Europe to share the gospel, as most pilgrims are more open to listen, discuss and reflect while on the Camino.

You will hike the Way of St. James with your teammates. You will find yourself surrounded by pilgrims coming from all parts of Spain and the rest of the world, and there will be lots of opportunities for you to make friends from all walks of life and share the gospel with them, both while you are walking and in the pilgrim hostels.

Upon arrival, you will get an orientation and a welcome dinner where you will meet the rest of the team. The following day, you will get to the start point of the hike. Be ready for prayer times, devotionals and engaging in conversations with your teammates and pilgrims.

You will hike it alongside pilgrims who are hiking for different motives. Over the following days, you will walk, live and be challenged together. Each day you will walk from one town to another and spend the night in a pilgrim hostel, where you will be able to make new friends and reunite with pilgrims that you meet on the Way.

Participant profile

We are looking for people who:
 Want to grow and serve others
 Are able to walk on average 20-25 km per day
 Want to be challenged physically, mentally and spiritually
 Want to meet new people and share their faith
 Are flexible, willing to listen and learn

Basic Spanish is not required but highly recommended. You do need to be able to communicate in English as that will be the team language and the language that most international pilgrims use.

We will stay in albergues (pilgrim hostels). You will sleep in a bed, bedding is provided. You will need to bring a towel.

Self-catering. There will be supermarkets and restaurants in the towns that we stop by. You will receive 105€ for all the meals while hiking (15€ per day). If you want to eat at local restaurants instead of cooking, then bring extra money for it. A meal in a restaurant costs around 10€.

You need to arrive at La Coruña Airport (LCG) where you will be picked up by a team member.

Walk the Talk is physically demanding. You need to be physically fit as the team will be hiking on average 20-25 km per day for 5 consecutive days in a typically rainy region.

A tourist visa (90 days) for most non-European participants will be given upon arrival at the airport. To see if you need to get a visa before arriving in Spain, contact the Spanish embassy or consulate in your home country.

This is an EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH where you will need to be intentional in speaking to other pilgrims.
Our aim is to SHARE THE GOSPEL with other pilgrims.

This outreach is NOT for you if you are looking to do it in order to reflect or spend personal time with God.
