In this fairly remote country in the Himalayas, many people have never heard of God’s love. Millions of people are untouched by the transformative impact of the gospel. This is simply because no one has been there, yet! As English teacher you will empower national staff members to be more involved in future global missions. Help them build their confidence to use what they already know, to communicate better with the team and other international partners.

When you join Summit as an English teacher, a significant part of your time is spend at the OM office in the city. Teach English to our national members and learn about cross-cultural missions while serving in an international community for a few months. You help them to be more effective at their ministry and do better communication by teaching English. Be a great help for the OM team and take part of God’s ministry. See how God is doing through his people in this country.

This cost covers only accommodation, meals, and transport for ministries. It does not include airfare, visa, travel insurance, required vaccinations, and airport transfer. Charges may be incurred for late cancellation. Dates and costs may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

Your class will be at the OM office and this is where you may prepare your classes as well. You will join team outreaches once a week with other international team members. Besides your regular class and team ministry, you will also participate some other team meetings (Bible study, prayer meeting, morning devotions) and go on a short trek.

You are ready and most welcome to join when you:

Accommodation

Your new home will be in the nation’s capital. Together with other international team members you share a flat, and live close to where the rest of the team lives. You are responsible for practical things like shopping, cooking and cleaning. On trek you stay at local homes or churches. Be prepared to sleep on whatever you bring or what is provided for you.

Food

You and your flat mates are cooking your own meals. Local Asian food will be served during trekking (lots of rice!). Be ready to enjoy the food served for the team. Please ask for advice if you have dietary restrictions.

Travel

You are responsible to arrange and pay your own flight. We will pick you up at the airport. All other travel within the country will be taken care of. Unfortunately it's not possible to stay longer, as your visa will expire.

Health

You will need to be in reasonable good health, both physically and emotionally. Be prepared for bumpy bus rides, long hikes in mountainous areas and interaction with local people. Please inform us if you have any health issues.
