OM Arts Ethnodoxology Workshop

Heart Sounds International (HSI) is a ministry of OM Arts that focuses on encouraging indigenous worship around the world. As an HSI team, participants will facilitate an ethnodoxology workshop to train songwriting workshop leaders how to encourage local people to work in indigenous styles.

The HSI team will partner with those in country to lead an ethnodoxology course for church leaders who have already had initial training in worship and missions and are ready to go deeper. The team will bring course attendees to the next level in their understanding of biblical theology of worship and ethnodoxology.

Ministry details

“Ethnodoxologists study how peoples around the world worship God and encourage them to create in response to God’s work in their lives” (quote by ethnodoxologist Robin Harris). Attendees of the ethnodoxology course will be from all over this Asian country and will include a variety of ethnic backgrounds. They are leaders in their churches and have already completed a fifteen-day discipleship course.
Last year, HSI conducted a similar course. Attendees from this past course will now partner with the HSI team to co-teach this year’s course. Topics will include worship and culture, contextualized worship, worship and missions, ethnomusicology, and theology of worship.
