OM in Africa needs an assistant in their (mostly virtual) finance team. A natural organizer with an eye for detail, who loves Jesus and is passionate to serve with missionaries in Africa to see that God's love is shared with those who have not yet heard!
This role requires a person who thinks systematically, has good computer skills, and is culturally sensitive towards the rich diversity of people across the African continent.

Requirements

The person in this role could work from our office in Pretoria, South Africa, or serve the team virtually from anywhere close to the South African/Zambian time zone.

Key tasks fulfilled by our current finance assistant include:

  • Outlook email/calendar management (shared mailbox)
  • Cash, Bank, and International payments
  • All kinds of organizing and filing, mostly online (including using Microsoft SharePoint and Teams)
  • Basic bookkeeping tasks, including Excel analysis, basic journal posting, and checking of supporting documents
  • Assist to make flight bookings for missionaries across Africa via a local travel agent
  • Basic editing of training videos for finance officers across Africa Important skills that the successful candidate should possess:
  • Mature relationship with God
  • Natural organizer and logical thinker
  • Pays attention to details
  • Good computer skills, including comfortable use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook / Teams / SharePoint / Excel / Other)
  • Easy communicator
