As a bookkeeper serving on the mission field, you will provide much-needed support to the accountant on the OM team, and you will fulfil a vital ministry role toward the purpose of seeing more vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached. We are looking for knowledgeable, detail-oriented individuals who will handle the paperwork associated with OM's business and ministry transactions, including petty cash, data entry, bills, accounts, banking and record keeping. Participation in local ministry and team life may also be aspects of your role
Required Skills
We are looking for committed team members who love God, are growing in their relationship with Him and are passionate about serving Him with their gifts and skills and, if necessary, are also willing to serve in other ways as given opportunity.
Ideal qualities:
- A university degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a variety of finance responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with OM software is an asset but training is available
- Proficient in English with a willingness to learn Spanish
- Willingness to be involved with one or more of our ministries (mobilization, at risk children, training)
- Well-organized and detail oriented
- Excellent administrative skills
- Work well with others in a cross-cultural team environment
- Able to communicate finance concepts and results to non-finance people
- Discipline to work independently
- Flexible, adaptable, and teachable
