Shura Façanha boarded Logos in 1987 as the second woman from her home country of Ecuador to join OM—her sister being the first. Shura went on to work with OM in Europe and, later serving on Doulos and in the USA. She returned to Ecuador in 1991 and challenged others to join missions. A year later, she began the work of OM in Ecuador. Shura has worked as an English teacher at both the high school and university levels, as a translator and interpreter, and has taught at her alma mater, C&MA Seminary. Shura holds a master’s degree in intercultural studies and TESL from Wheaton College in the USA. Shura and husband Roberto worked in the Andean Region and Latin America for more than 15 years. Shura is passionate about training and teaching. Currently Shura and Roberto serve on board Logos Hope. The couple has four children between the ages of 13 and 25.
